AI + Agile

AI assisted Agile project management is a real-time data and analytics approach, automating processes, and assisting in decision-making, improving efficiency and project effectiveness.

Predictive Analytics: Analyze historical data from past projects and predict potential outcomes for future projects.
Automated Testing: Automate testing processes, reduce errors and improve project quality.
Task Management: Manage tasks by assigning them to the appropriate team members. Track progress and provide notifications for deadlines.
Resource Allocation: Allocate resources in real-time, based on the changing requirements of the project.
Chatbots: Chatbots provide assistance to team members and help resolve issues in real-time, without human intervention.
Risk Assessment: Identify risks and get risk mitigation strategies.

Individuals and interactions over processes and tools

Many software teams concentrate on the best tools or processes to build software. The Agile Manifesto suggests that people behind the processes are most important.

Having the right group of individuals on your software team is vital to success. The best possible tools in the wrong hands are worthless. Perhaps even more important is how these individuals communicate with each other. The interactions between team members are what helps collaborate and solve problems.

Working software over comprehensive documentation

Previously, software developers would spend ages creating detailed documentation. That was before they started writing a single line of code. While documentation is important, it should already be routine, so focus on providing your customers with working software.

The Agile Manifesto places shipping software to your customers as one of the highest priorities. You can gather feedback, groom, then improve future releases.

Customer collaboration over contract negotiation

Not long ago, contracts were king. You would draw up contracts with your customers who would then detail the finished product. Often, a contrast between contract and product arose, and what the customer actually required was missing.

According to the Agile Manifesto, the focus should be on continuous development. You need to build a feedback loop with your customers so you can constantly ensure that the product works for them.

Responding to change over following a plan

In the past, a roadmap would never change, and product delivery failed more than 50% of the time.

Static roadmaps do not work in a dynamic world. Needs, want's and requirements are always shifting. Priorities are always changing.

The Agile Manifesto suggests that a software team should have the ability to pivot, be  flexible, and a fluid roadmap accomplishes this. It can change from quarter to quarter, sometimes even month to month, and agile teams can adjust to changes.

Start with what you do now

Kanban recognizes the value of your existing processes and practices. At the start of any project, change management professionals will carry out a discovery phase to highlight any issues that are hindering processes and outcomes.

This enables review of the workflow, roles, responsibilities, titles, communications, and more. This is more efficient and cost effective.

Because Kanban improves transparency, you can quantify ROI over time and estimate the impact of making any process improvements.

Agree to incremental and  evolutionary change

The concept of continuous improvement is key to Kanban and is a quality that it shares with Agile and Scrum methodologies. Delivering change in small, continuous increments is also shared by these project management approaches. Doing so helps to minimize disruption and make the whole change process more manageable.

Big changes are more difficult to implement and more likely to meet resistance internally.

Respect the process, roles, responsibilities, and titles

Being respectful helps reinforce the idea that Kanban will not be overly disruptive or completely change established operating models. This is particularly important if those models are effective. This approach positions Kanban as a compromising and collaborative means of improving legacy processes without fundamental disruption to an organization’s underlying operations.

Encourage acts of leadership at all levels in your organization

As part of Kanban’s emphasis on collaboration, it also allows anyone to take ownership of an issue and address it. With the transparency Kanban provides, any team member should be able to take action and be able to justify it with strong data to back them up. This encouraging culture helps to empower team members to take the lead, take risks, and grow professionally and personally.
